Rory’s Beach Bar – 118/10 Tran Hung Dao Street
Street Phu Quoc’s liveliest and most fun beach bar draws a steady torrent of travellers and island residents down the path to its seaside perch.
Coco Bar – 118 Tran Hung Dao Street
With chairs and music spilling onto the pavement, Coco – by the Flipper dive centre – is a great place for a roadside bevvie and chat with the mix of travelling folk, Gallic wayfarers, local drinkers and passing pool sharks.
Eden – Tran Hung Dao Street
Next door to La Veranda, this is an outpost of the popular Pham Ngu Lao bar-restaurant. It has a fine location with tables on the sand and a covered interior with pool tables and internet access.
Drunken Monkey – 82 Tran Hung Dao Street
Friendly owner Steph has put much work into this solid choice on the main road, with amiable staff, big-projector sports TV, pool table, foot-tapping tunes and seats slung out the front.
Safari Bar – Tran Hung Dao Street
The welcoming English owner of this otherwise rather uneventful bar is a useful source of local info on all things Phu Quoc. The eats also get good press.
